Described by fans as being one of the most dynamic, soulful, entertaining vocalists on the jazz scene today, Donna Bailey
creates a sophisticated, “coolness” to jazz standards, as well as with her own compositions. Her vocal interpretations, along
with her captivating personality, have caused audiences to call her absolutely “spell-bounding”. Donna was invited to
perform for the legendary Dave Brubeck, in honor of his 86th birthday at The Manchester Craftsman’s Guild.
Donna’s CD, “BECOMING…Ballads, Bosssa, Blues and Beyond” includes her popular composition, My Favorite Thing, fun
twists to “Crazy” and “Fever”
and the somber “It’s Always 4 AM”, written by Ron Anthony and Sammy Cahn.
Her latest CD, DONNA BAILEY AND FRIENDS, was produced by four-time Grammy winner, Jay Dudt and features a duet
with Ivan Lins and Joe Negri. Other guests include Ron Anthony, Wayne Bergeron, Hendrik Meurkens and Sean Jones.
Donna’s professional healthcare background lends credibility to her Residency Programs. It includes performances in
senior living facilities that concentrate on the positive cognitive effects of music therapy for aging seniors and Alzheimer’s
care.
She is a voice instructor at the Siri School of the Performing Arts in, of course, Harmony.
Donna will join the Eric Mintel Quartet to pay tribute to the Dave Brubeck recording, VOCAL ENCOUNTERS, featuring the
fabulous vocals of Carmen McRae.
